Mystery’s Night - Storyboard 23-1

In the next few posts, I will demonstrate my process for making storyboard #23 for "Mystery’s Night." I will first scan a penciled drawing that shows a few panels. I sat down one afternoon and mocked up all the drawings in graphic-novel format. I will make adjustments in a wide-screen format for the final online version. For this panel I will enlarge the pencil sketch (A) and tighten it. I will trace it to Bristol board on a light box. I will use an 0.05 Staedtler pigment liner for my pen. I want the final scan to be adaptable to print. I will scan the pencil sketch in grayscale mode, with a minimum 300 dpi resolution. After I trace the drawing, I will scan it in black and white with a minimum 300dpi resolution. Note: I scan at this minimum (300 dpi) so the scans can be used for printing later (marketing materials, posters, etc).
